Who in Europe loves fruits and vegetables?
Poles generally are known as major consumers of sausages and similar delicacies, but they are the most greedy for fruit and vegetables in Europe, says a study of the European Council for Information on nutrition (EUFIC), conducted in 19 countries.
Poles top the list with 577 g average daily consumption of fruit and vegetables ahead of the Italians, whose indicator in this respect is 452 grams per day.
Only in Poland, Germany, Austria and Italy follow the recommendation to consume at least 400 grams of fruit and vegetables a day ", says the study published online onEUFIC.
France is ranked ninth in the rankings with an average of 342 grams per day per capita, as it were before Hungary, Estonia, Ireland and Belgium.
The Irish are in the queue in the group - they take only 186 grams fruit and vegetablesper day per person, before it were Sweden (237 grams) and the Czech Republic(253 grams). Important role in the consumption of fruits and vegetables plays ageographical location.
